MOTORSPORT PHOTOGRAPHIC TRAINING

Having teamed up with James Whitham and Mallory Park Circuit, we are offering photographers of all levels an experience that will be educationalinspirational and most of all – enjoyable.

The courses are being headed by Double Red’s James Wright, who, having photographed in excess of 600 British Superbike races as well as working with almost all of the major motorcycling manufacturers, is one of the most experienced motorcycling photographers in the UK.

Mallory Park is known as The Friendly circuit and you can find a whole host of information about the circuit, local accommodation etc on their website: www.malloryparkcircuit.com

180_180_crop_2071a656130b3f5c5227f5cf6b346d21James Whitham needs little introduction. Having enjoyed an illustrious career racing at National and International level, “Whit” is now a familiar face as part of the Eurosport team covering BSB. The James Whitham Race School instructors are some of the fastest around – stars of BSB and TT. These guys will be on track and you will get the chance to photograph them as they go about their instructing.

The number of courses we can run will be limited so don’t delay . . . book today.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

You will not learn how to get a media pass to your favourite motorsport event – that is not the aim of the course – what you WILL learn will depend on your level – there will be something for everyone – but our courses will cover circuit safety, camera settings, use of shutter speeds, apertures and ISO and the effect they have on each other and why this matters in your photography. You will learn techniques for different styles of shots, how to practice your technique to improve your ‘hit rate’, how best to use the equipment you have instead of always thinking you need the next shiny gizmo that is released and – if you are ready for it – you will have a chance to get your hands on some Pro equipment. There will be a chance to download your images for critique (so don’t forget to bring your laptop and a card reader!) before getting the chance to go back onto the circuit for more practice.

EVERYONE who attended our previous courses has left with increased camera confidence, and whatever their level, improvements in the techniques essential for consistent motorsport and action images.

Take your action photography to the next level and
book now.

THE FOCUS OF THE COURSE

The focus of our courses is YOU. Our courses have no fixed schedule (which may seem a bit alien) but it does mean that we can concentrate on YOU – whatever your level and it also means we can provide a wider range of training across a range of abilities. The aim is to have everyone interested and soaking up information relative to them – We want to make it YOUR day. You will be aided through your weak points and as your technique improves throughout the day you will be guided through the next phase , helping you develop your skills and get more enjoyment from your photography. Our courses are practical, focussed, hands-on, “let’s get trackside and shoot” courses rather than technical, classroom based courses, (they can be as technical as you wish, if that is your thing!), but the only way to improve is to SHOOT, REVIEW, CRITIQUE, LEARN, and REPEAT.

MORE 1-TO-1 ATTENTION

Course numbers are deliberately kept low in order that everyone can benefit from some quality one-to-one time with their tutor, especially important during the trackside sessions, and you will have the opportunity to either learn, practice or hone your technique under the guidance of some of the most experienced photographers in motorcycling, and we GUARANTEE you will leave at the end of the day having learned loads to practice and improve your photography skills.

A huge thanks to James, Sue, Pete and my fellow students for a cracking day. Learned a lot and enjoyed myself immensely. Totally worth the 700 mile round trip.

TRAINING ATTENDEE

James was very patient. There was just enough detail and I learnt so much. The day was very enjoyable, I was nervous at the start, but that soon went away. Very relaxed but informative. Thank you – Catherine
